Not Just Another Athlete Turned Coach

Hi, I'm Megan!

I am a natural born coach, teacher and a lifelong learner. When I find something I love, I feel compelled to learn as much as possible about it and teach or coach it.

I fell in love with rowing in my senior year of high school and have been coaching rowing for 26 years. In 2007 I started competing in triathlon and in 2019 became a certified triathlon coach. Currently I work part time as the Lead Personal Coach for Hydrow, an indoor rowing company that focuses on whole health. I also hold certifications in personal training and nutrition coaching from NASM, indoor cycling, indoor rowing as well as life coaching.

With a minor in education and years worth of classroom and athletic coaching experience, I am not ust another athlete turned coach. As a matter of fact, I was becoming an adult athlete as I was growing into my role as a coach, which greatly shaped how I approach coaching.

I compete annually as a masters athlete in regattas and triathlons and have taught hundreds of indoor cycling and indoor rowing classes on the Echelon platform. I am a FISA Master's World Championship gold medal holder in Women's double sculls (2018) as well as a USRowing Master's National gold medal holder in Women's quadruple sculls (2019) and Mixed double sculls (2021).

I am 50 years old and quite honestly, continue to maintain the best physical and mental shape of my life.

I believe that education is the most important component in creating a successful coaching relationship. An athlete is more likely to train smarter with a lesser chance of injury and adhere to a sport technique or a training plan if they understand the HOW, WHAT, WHEN and WHY behind what I coach.
